SOUR DRINKS

Picture

All drinks in this category are made with a commercial lemonade type mixer called "sour mix." Because of it's somewhat thick consistency or if it's a powder mix, all drinks containing sour mix must be shaken.

Basic Preparation

There are two classifications of sour drinks.
Short Sours: Are mostly served straight up in a sour glass or rocks glass.
Tall Sours: Served only on the rocks in a tall glass. All tall sours are garnished with and orange slice and a cherry.
When prepared straight up: Pour all ingredients into a 16oz. glass filled with ice. Shake and strain.
When prepared on the rocks: Pour all ingredients into a tall glass filled with ice. Shake with short metal shaker. Add topping if needed (a topping refers to a float of liquor or a splash of soda).

A Collins is made by adding club soda to any sour and garnishing with an orange and cherry.
